In 1997, Bill McCormack realized a long term goal... he envisioned that a bagpipe band would be an asset to our Irish community. He encouraged members of the Fairfield, CT Gaelic American Club with similar musical interests to join and learn with him. The response was strong, the commitment impressive and now, 18 years later the Fairfield Gaelic Pipe Band has been the recipient of awards for excellence from parade committee judges throughout the tri-state area.
The band has marched in the New York and Boston Saint Patrick's Day parades, participated in the International Pipefest held in Edinburgh Scotland and appeared at countless festivals and fundraisers. The band also performs annually at the Fairfield County Irish Festival.
